WINNIPEG (CP) _ Rudolph and all of Santa's other reindeer may have a tough time keeping up to the escort the Canadian air force is planning to provide for them on Christmas Eve.

Canada's branch of the North American Aerospace Defence Command has freed up three CF-18 fighter jets to serve as the jolly old elf's guide for his trip across the country.

The planes will be snapping digital photos of the journey and beaming them back to Norad, where they will be posted on the Internet at www.noradsanta.org (http://www.noradsanta.org) _ the centre's Santa-tracking Web site.

ANy word on whether Santa will need to have an interview with the US Embassy of the North pole before being granted a visa? I think he'd better ditch the beard and hat - could be grounds for profiling him as a potential terrorist.....

With that red suit...I bet he is a communist.

Because of the beard and long hair... obviously a liberal... We can't have those in our country.

And I wonder what he is smoking in his pipe?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays...

I am afraid that Santa might have trouble with the INS if he vists Syria or Lebanon first. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

When Santa Claus was filming his second film in YVR recently, he hired my 3 nephews and nieces who live in that city. It paid for their RESP's for 2 years.

At the speed Santa left the North Pole in SC2 the Canadian CF-18's will have a tough task keeping up! Fortunately last year a Canuck won Maple Flag against all Nato pilots, so we should be able to handle it.
