Airport gets tool that can cut delay
Phila. International started using a new radar system yesterday. It lets two aircraft land there simultaneously.
A new radar system launched yesterday at Philadelphia International Airport could help the city chip away at its reputation as home to one of the nation's most delay-prone airports.
With the $12 million radar system in place, two aircraft - a commuter plane and a full-size jetliner - were able to land simultaneously on parallel runways yesterday for the first time.
