following yesterdays positiv vote results in the Canton of Zurich (55% of the canton Zurich-population voted for a further 300 Million Swiss Francs credit, plus more credits for Zurich airport), Crossair's CEO confirmed, that at this time talks/projects with Lufthansa to build up together a strong Europe-Asia network are most likely to be realized. The largest obstacles may be European cartel questions (but Switzerland is not yet bound by any European cartel decisions, Lufthansa/Germany is).

This project would most certainly mean the end of the AA-Swissair-transatlantic-partnership,

Crossairs new board is likely to make iimportant decisions about this, the future Alliance-question (and much more) at todays session (Monday, january-14).

That would really be a big surprise. After the recent talks between BA and KLM it seams that Crossair has no chance to join Oneworld (if they ever wanted). Veiling may also dominate in future.

Maybe we'll see/hear more today. I really can't wait to get the results ...

A "good" basis may also be catering with Sky Chefs and Gate Gourmet. I don't know the current economical situation of Gate Gourmet. Sky Chefs is doeing very bad at the moment with enormous losses.

That would be most welcome.

But the market power of star* in central europe with LH, LH team, SAS, bmi, AUA, Lauda, Eurowings, Tyrolean and Crossair would be overwhelming...

Primarily helpful to get from Switzerland to London or Paris on *A without a connection flight.

Crossair in Partnership Talks With Lufthansa, 3 Other Carriers

Crossair AG, the Swiss regional airline that's taking over most of Swissair Group's flights by April, said is in talks with Deutsche Lufthansa AG and three other airlines about a partnership.

``We're in talks with Lufthansa and are also talking to Air France SA, British Airways Plc and Continental Airlines Inc.,'' said Diane Mueller, a Crossair spokeswoman. ``It could be an agreement with an individual airline or with an alliance. We'll make a decision by the end of March.''

Basel, Switzerland-based Crossair has said it won't make the same mistake as Swissair, which last year filed for creditor protection largely because it invested in small, unprofitable airlines, which hurt its earnings, rather than join an international alliance.

SonntagsZeitung reported yesterday, citing no one, that Crossair Chief Executive Officer Andre Dose met Lufthansa Chairman Juergen Weber and more talks are planned. Under the plan, Zurich airport, Europe's 10th-busiest, would become a hub for flights to Africa and some Asian destinations, the Swiss newspaper said.

Mueller wouldn't say which executives were involved in the talks. Lufthansa wouldn't give a statement on the report.

``We don't comment on potential talks with airlines,'' said Sandra Kraft, Lufthansa spokeswoman.
