I dont know where to put this so I stuck it here , sorry. A national guardsman was arrested at the airport terminal cause he had a long rap sheet and was on probation and he wasnt suppose to be carrying a firearm. He was there to protect us, yikes!

Looks like Mr. Moderator is asleep at the switch, wouldn't this qualify as "in The News"?

Yes, it would qualify as "In the News," under the FlyerTalk Travel bulletin board. "In the News" for FlyerTalk Miles is reserved for news items relevant to points and miles programs.

How about everyone's favorite forum, FlyerTalk Airports - In The News?

You are correct, it should be FlyerTalk Airports "In the News."

Uh, that would be Ms. Moderator. I've been tied up at work the last few days ...
And yes, I'm moving this to the news forum.
Cheers,

Well sorry FT's for posting this thread in the wrong forum and I said in my 1st post that I was sorry and asked if it was indeed the wrong area to please move it to the correct one. Since then Ive gotten an email from the moderator to be more careful. But the moderator tossed it in the Miles and Points which the defination is Posting links and discussion of frequent flyer articles in the news.
SO do we now get points or miles for dealing with the security checkpoints?
From what Ive gathered here is some people are perfect and they demand others to be the same, or we have our own profilers on this board.
For example someone posted a thread about Enterprise rent a car in the National Car rental thread. SO should I go chew that person out and tell him or her they are flat out wrong or should I take a moment and say well that person is human and made an honest mistake! Then leave it alone.
Thanks

Wouldn't that be great?
ernestb, Don't worry too much about it. No harm done. You'll notice that LOTS of threads in this particular forum stray a bit from the miles and points aspect of the news stories.

Unfortunately, I cannot move threads across boards, that is (for example), from the Miles board to the Airport board.
Well, actually, I _could_ do it, but it would be a manual move, entailing the possibility of me not getting it right. I already get slammed for what I do moderate so I'm disinclined to take actions that would further bury me in unnecessary criticism.

ernestb, I wasn't directing any criticism your way. My post(s) were off-handed comments on the difficulties of posting to the "correct" forum, the large number of forums that get no traffic, the inconsistent policies of the moderators (I know, it's a tough job), etc.
BTW, back to your topic, that was a rather frightening development. I am interested to see what if anything comes of it.
