A British Airways pilot has been awarded for his bravery in tackling a passenger who seized the controls during a flight to Nairobi last December.
William Hagan, 53, who was born in Northern Ireland, received the medal at the British Gold Heroes Awards in the Cafe Royal in London.
The award recognised his bravery in helping to bring the BA jet back on course after it almost crashed when the man stormed the cockpit.
