IMHO, the AA-TWA is now just about a done deal. Texan Bush and Missourian Ashcroft are not going to torpedo this arangement, especially since it saves jobs for Ashcroft's home state and it allows AA, headquatered in Texas, to compete with an elarged United after it swallows US Air.

Continental must have some sort of merger/buyout of their own in the works, otherwise they would not be backing out of their protests so quickly.
