San Francisco radio station KCBS, in an interview with SFO airport spokesman Ron Wilson at 1530, reported that 169 flights have been diverted, with numerous flights, including international flights, diverted up and down the coast, as well as to Salt Lake City and Denver, due to the bad weather today.
The airport spokesman expressed concern that many of the pilots, particularly on international flights that were diverted, might go illegal by exceeding their maximum flight hours before they ever get to SFO. He also said they would be receiving incoming flights tonight until 3 in the morning due to delays. He mentioned that BA and Virgin flights, among other, had been diverted.
