The Dutch goverment has agreed to the privatization of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The decision paves the way for a stock market flotation next year that is expected to value Europe's fourth-largest airport at up to USD$3.45 billion.

The privatization involves the sale of the government's 75.8% stake in several parts of the airport. The agreement ends a prolonged period of uncertainty for Schiphol's management, which has argued that its international growth has been hampered by the perception abroad that it's a state company.
