Newsstand - Engine Inspections likely to be speeded up by new FAA directive

The FAA is expected to call for accelerated inspections of about 2,500 GE commercial-aircraft engines worldwide to detect potentially hazardous cracks, which would require some engines to be taken out of service before scheduled maintenance checks, according to today's Wall Street Journal.
