American to Expand Again at Orlando With Flights to Sao Paulo and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines announced today that it will once again expand at Orlando on April 2 by inaugurating nonstop service to and from Sao Paulo, Brazil, with continuing service to Rio de Janeiro. American will offer the service four days a week with 204-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

Also effective April 2, American will add a second flight three days a week between its Dallas/Fort Worth hub and Sao Paulo, with continuing serve to and from Rio de Janeiro.

On Dec. 16, American introduced daily nonstop service between Orlando and Los Angeles. Overall, American's jet service at Orlando will increase to a total of 23 flights a day. The airline's regional affiliate, American Eagle, serves Orlando with eight flights a day.

"Our new services build on Orlando's broad appeal for leisure and business travelers everywhere," said Mike Gunn, American's senior vice president- marketing. "Our service to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will strengthen Orlando's presence in South America, just as the new Los Angeles route is opening up new opportunities for Orlando on the West Coast."
