From BTN Online -- Monday, January 3, 2000

British Airways has doubled the maximum amount of carry-on luggage that long-haul business class passengers are permitted to take on board. Passengers must split the new 40-lb. weight allowance between two items: a suit bag or wheeled suitcase, and a laptop or briefcase.

BA beginning in the spring will redesign business cabins to offer extra overhead and wardrobe space for additional carry-on
luggage.

OTOH, I'm glad that someone posted the other day that BA's carry-on limit in coach is ONE PIECE. I haven't flown them transatlantic-ly in several years, but now I know I CAN'T.

Not only is BA's coach allowance one piece, but they strictly enforce their 11 lb. limit at LHR. In the US, BA's check-in doesn't seem as strict. I saw a few people's bags get checked in because it was too heavy. My bag was 6.3 kg (6kg limit) and the agent said it was ok.
