Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Headcount on elite kits and statements

has anyone received their new MVP or MVP/Gold card and kit yet? i certainly haven't. and oh, we're only in the second month of the year.

how about statements? the last one i received was for NOVEMBER. AS owes me several upgrades (that expire April 30).

i'm so glad i've switched to AAdvantage.

Kit? What's that? Didn't get one last year, and neither my wife nor I (both Golds) have received a kit or our new cards as of yet this year.

I did receive a statement this week, with ten Gold certs. Not that they are terribly useful what with the April 30 expiration date. Am upgrading friends and family just to be rid of them ...

oh. i only said 'kit' because i've heard it referred to as such on other airlines (like for AA you get the card, misc. info, luggage tags, etc). i'm a first time elite on AS, so i guess a card is all you get. that's enough for me if it would just come already!!

Made Gold during November 2001 - no sign of a card yet. Still waiting on my December statement - which will have gold upgrades that expire April 30...... My November Statement arrived last weekend so I am not sure how much time I'm going to be given to use the gold certs....

New card came last December, just like last year and the year before and so on and so on. Received December statement last week with a pair of Gold FC certs that expire April 30th, 2002.

I made gold in dec, called last week and was told "cards have been mailed out and you should get card this week"

yeah right.

of course, when i made mvp in april 2001 for 2002, I received card immediately. Partner received her 2002 mvp card in November, though qualified for gold in December.

Of course, I am also waiting for my EXP kit from AA - qualified in early Dec.

I don't care about the card, I care about getting through security faster at SEA.

I did receive my dec. statement this week.

Maybe another call to the mvpgold mileage plan is in order.

do i hear an 'amen' to that?! and i just love that AA Plats can't get use that line (EXP only) when the mileage qualification is the same.

No card, AS has never been particularly prompt about many things (posting of partners or to partners certainly omes to mind) but they are starting to be not only slow but unpredictable which is a real problem. If they are consistently 2 months behind I can deal with that, but sometimes sending statements and certs after one month and sometimes after two or three starts to devalue the benefits signaificantly.

They have changed things at the elite security line in SEA. The last time I was there (late Jan) I was told that you did not have to have a card as they were aware that many people had not yet received theirs. What you do have to show is that your boarding pass shows your premier status. I have an AS MVP Gold card but was flying UA and the simple words, Premier Executive, on my boarding pass were all I needed to go through the elite line. My MVP card would have worked as well no matter which airline I was flying, but my point is I didn't need it. Check it out.

And for the record (or poll), I received my 2002 Gold card back in about July when I requalified.

thanks for the info about SEA!! that will come in handy next time i cruise through (assuming i don't have the card by then!)

I passed thru security at SEA on Saturday 2/2/2...they wanted to see my card and didn't take my GOLD MVP boarding pass as proof. I still have the card for last year though...haven't received a new one. I guess they didn't notice.

now i just need my statements (read: upgrades).

My card arrived on Saturday, after I left for San Diego for the day. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif However, the C express lane is now taking AA PLT cards (still waiting for EXP card) and I went through faster.

I think there finally getting towards the end. I qualified for gold on Dec 20th and received mine on Saturday.

does anyone know when we get out NW upgrade certs (for Golds)? i am a first time Gold so i'm in the dark!

The current NW certs expire 2/28/02. Rarely have I gotten the new ones before the old ones expire. From my experience, I would look for these to arrive in March. I hope I am proven wrong.

Partner received her gold card yesterday.

I have one set of NW upgrades if someone wants them. Email in profile.

Just got mine on Saturday

I took advantage of the UA comp (don't flame me!). Got 2 upgrade certs in mid-January and got my Gold card on Feb. 8th. It was just a card attached to one sheet of heavy paper listing benefits. No additional certs.
