Air New Zealand Air Points - F fares through the roof?

Just been checking return F fares AKL-LAX online and the system is coming back with drug-money pricing. Instead of ~ $8K I'm getting around $14K no matter what dates I pick or how far in advance I try. I then try C & Y for the same dates & the numbers are exactly what I would expect. Any idea what's up?

Sounds like there is no "A" class (discounted First class) inventory on the dates you want, only "F" class. The standard fare levels are below:

ASPEC NZ 8589.00R
F2R NZ 14535.00R

</font>An example, NZ4 7/3/04 and NZ3 14/3/04. But every pair of dates I try (interested in early March but even tried dates in July and December) return a full F fare. Can you see ANYTHING this year that has A fares? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Looks like the problem with those dates is NZ4 - "F" and "A" class are now both completely sold out. NZ6 and NZ2 both still have "A" availability on that date however, so if you travel on one of them, returning on NZ3, you should get a grand total of NZ$ 8676.50.

Having checked however, it appears the lower ASPEC fare isn't being picked up by the Sabre booking engine. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif I'll look into it - in the meantime, if you want to make the booking, you can call NZ reservations (or email me!)

this is slightly a question within a question but what is the standard sort of pricing for Business to LAX and Business and First to LHR (from AKL) ? on NZ1/2
