Air New Zealand Air Points - Enhanced benefits for UK members

In case anyone missed it, this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum82/HTML/001889.html) in the Star forum mentions that from Febuary (and for a whole year), UK *G's and *S's will be getting a range of extra goodies including 25% bonus miles and standby upgrade certificates valid on any participating *A carrier (of which Air New Zealand is one). If anyone has any additional info specific to AirNZ FF's it would be greatly appreciated (it says AirNZ are participating, but we all know how much Airpoints like giving up things like tier bonuses and upgrade certificates so I'll believe it when I see it http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif).

Will this mean awards/upgrades LHR-LAX or AKL will be harder to get with all the extra coupons that will be in the system (and NZ being the best possible destination IMHO http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )?

Edited to add: Answered myself after reading thread better. LHR-AKL will require 2 coupons each way, same as with Airpoints. Seems to be not confirmable in advance, so shouldnt reduce award/upgrade availability, although cabins should be fuller.
