Air New Zealand Air Points - 763 or 762 aircraft? how to tell?

Hi,

Am about to issue 2 C-class award tickets on NZ PPT-AKL then AKL-SIN.
How can i know if it is a 763 or 762 configured aircraft? does it make a difference in terms of seating in C-class?
What seat would try to request?

Hi Didier,

AKL-SIN is without exception operated by 763 aircraft. AKL-PPT is operated by 763 99% of the time - 762s are only used on this route in the case of a disrupt.

UA CTO says they can't pre-assign seats, only at check in though...
By the way, since you are in NZ, could you recommend a site for hotel bookings or does flying NZ gets you special rates for hotels in AKL?

http://www.wotif.com/ offers discount hotel rates for up to 2 weeks in advance. This will give you an idea of what is avaliable. Many hotels have there own web site

Have other questions:
Flying from PPT and connecting in AKL, can you go directly to the lounge without clearing immigration? Is the lounge easy to find?
How about the NZ Lounge in SIN?
My parents hardly speak/read english so would like to provide them with as much information as needed.

The connection at AKL is a breeze, your parents won't need to clear immigration or even security. The lounge is a little hard to find, though - tell them that after they arrive, they should walk along the main corridor towards gate 1, keep going straight ahead, up a slight ramp, and after another 30m or so into the corridor across from the record shop. The lounge is upstairs, on their left when they get to the top of the escalator.

NZ don't have ther own lounge in SIN, instead they use Singapore Airlines' SilverKris lounge.

About AKL lounge, they have a couple of hours to find it... will try to look for a map of AKL airport with NZ lounge location (in NZ in-flight magazine?)
