Air New Zealand Air Points - How to get in lounges when forgot *G card?

Hi all. I'm at ANZ lounge at LAX (busy, crowded, very noisy!). Think I'm going to book a couple of flights domestic ANZ.

My *G card gets me into the lounges, but I just realized I forget it at home (along w/ MRStarAlliance's phone #, the phone # of the bride whose wedding I"m going to, etc - it's been downhill so far!).

So is there a way of proving I'm *G so I can use lounges when doing the domestic flights?

BTW - when checking into first today, there was an entire family (3 small screaming children who went around kicking other passengers in line - this is going to be a long flight w/ them in first) checking in. Sigh...The parents said they were too tired to deal w/ it. Great - not.

Sharon - I hope those kids behave themselves! It sounds like the parents need a crash-course in taking responsibility and consideration for others... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif FWIW, NZ FA's tend to be great with children, so for your sake I hope they take up the slack.

Re getting into lounges, explaining the situation and showing the *G on your boarding pass should be enough. NZ lounge attendants don't tend to be too draconian about these things! The other thing you could do is access your FF account online and print out something which demonstrates your status. This could be especially useful for domestic lounges, as in my experience the domestic boarding passes don't always print the *G.

Good luck! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

(By the way - the LAX loung has the rep for being the worst and most crowded in the system, so hopefully it will all improve from here...)

Presumably your boarding pass for US-NZ shows *G status. Keep that handy for your subsequent flights.

Other than the main centres, NZ domestic lounges are very basic http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

AKL and WLG are great though http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

AKL and WLG lounges can get pretty full too at times.

...which is making me think that it's probably time we had an 'ultimate NZ lounge thread' along the lines of airnzboy's ultimate seating thread, where we can consolidate our experience / opinions / information about NZ lounges.

Any thoughts?

well, good news is that i found the card; it was plastered next to my hilton card & when i pulled that out upon arrival at hilton, found that, so no worries on that part.

now if i could just find the bride's #, and also find a massage place. the airbus driver dropped me many blocks from hilton & i had heavy luggage....

Ehem, that's "pilot" to you... and no, Hilton does not have a runway long enough!

I know, I know... I'm silly... I just couldn't resist... Sorry! ;-)

My boarding passes did have *Gold mentioned on them, but I had the card so not sure if it would have been a problem w/o.
