Air New Zealand Air Points - ANZ seating advice?

I'm facing LAX/AKL/LAX in economy. Any advice on the best/worst seats? Will my 1K status give me access to preferred seating? Any chance of a comp U/G?

To answer your questions:

As *G you will have access to preferred seats on NZ.

Comp upgrades are rare as hens teeth on NZ. However NZ has 34" pitch in the back of the plane - great for these long flights.

Thanks for the advice and info. I wasn't sure where to post since it wasn't an earning/burning mileage question.
