Air New Zealand Air Points - pacific fares ?View Full Version : pacific fares ? jongar Jan 3, 04, 3:41 pm Hey there, myself and the much prettir ther half are looking at an ex sfo/lax trip, taking in SIN/MEL/AKL and RAR. Jon Kiwi Flyer Jan 4, 04, 12:05 pm Hi Try *A circle pacific (http://www.staralliance.com/star_alliance/star/content/pacific_fare.html). Looks to be okay for you - requires stopover in Australia or NZ, up to 22k or 26k miles, and a few other conditions (see link). [This message has been edited by Kiwi Flyer (edited Jan 04, 2004).] Kiwi Flyer Jan 4, 04, 12:09 pm I dont know how the price of the Circle Pacific compares with booking one-way sectors. Note that with NZ an AKL-LAX routing allows a free stopover in RAR. Gold Member Jan 10, 04, 2:32 am Does anyone have contact details for travel agent in Fiji to buy international tickets. I will arrive from Tuvalu and would like some help to find a reasonable agent. I want to buy a Star RTW ticket 39,000 miles. Any idea how much in Fiji? Zaco Jan 11, 04, 4:05 pm Hi Gold Member Welcome to Flyertalk http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. I'd recommend the Air New Zealand Travelcenter (either in Nadi or Suva) for tickets. There are other, local TA's who might be able to get you a slightly better price, but might not be so hassle-free. I'm flying back to Fiji today so let me know if I can help you from there. Cheers, Zac airnzboy Jan 11, 04, 6:28 pm Hi Gold, The standard price for a RTWSTAR3 (39,000mpm) originating in Fiji is FJD$4600.00 (at today's exchange rate, that's approx USD$2685 or NZ$4120). This compares to NZD$4499 for a STAR3 originating in New Zealand, so it is a little cheaper - however, the Fijian dollar seems to be one of the more volatile Pacific currencies (NZ$1 was FJ$0.99 the last time I was there, I'm sure, and that was only about a year and a half ago) so YMMV. Edited to add: If you're flying from Funafuti, I'd assume you'll be in Suva first - the Air NZ Travelcentre there is in the Queensland Insurance Centre on Victoria Parade, and is open 9-5 Mon-Fri and 9-12 on Sat. If you're heading to Nadi, the Travelcentre is located at Nadi Airport. ------------------ All my posts are my own personal opinions and experiences and in no way represent the opinon of my employer.
