I really enjoyed F on TG, mostly for the novelty value because I hadn't flown international First before. By all accounts, as F goes TG's product is sub-par, but the service is excellent, the seats comfortable for a day flight, and if you're a champagne drinker the Dom Perignon is always nice. On the other hand, AirNZ's J-class is a more slick and consistent product (now that it has been restored to its former glory after a brief flirtation with Premium-Economy style service), the food is better, and if something goes wrong they have 5 flights a day on that route to accommodate you on unlike TG's 1 per day. If TG's flight time suits and you like the chance of trying F, go for it, otherwise take NZ. You won't go too far wrong either way. |
