* Domestic 762 ZK-NBA has now had the Business Class seats recushioned and recovered to improve comfort when it is required to operate international services.

* Once the current stock of international timetables (effective May 2003) is exhausted, no more timetables will be released in print format, as travellers increasingly turn to the Internet to view schedules and timetables.

* Effective Monday 09June the premium facility within the existing transit lounge at LAX APT Terminal 2 will be operational for our First and Business Class Passengers travelling on NZ1/NZ2 only. This facility will have lounge seating combined with some cafe style seating, television, magazine rack, refreshments including tea, coffee, juices, beer, wine, soft drinks, bottled water and a variety of biscuits, snacks, cheese, fruit and sandwiches. The area will seat approx 40 passengers.

* The Boeing Peer Review commissioned by Ralph Norris following the engine failure of 762 ZK-NBC during climbout from BNE late last year has been released. In its summary, the Boeing team stated:
"The Team reviewed the investigation reports provided by Air New Zealand Limited regarding five recent incidents and found that the reports did a thorough job of assessing and addressing the issues contained within."
"Our observations, interviews, review of documents, check findings, and review of procedures, substantiated Air New Zealand Limited’s safe and effective maintenance engineering practices."

Latitudes.

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.
Robert Louis Stevenson (1850–1894)

Heard that Emirites plan to fly trans-Tasman (Mel/Akl, Syd/Akl). May help on the alliance front and also good competition for NZ/QF or the combined entity.
