Air New Zealand Air Points - AKL Koru Club in Forbes 2003 Top Ten Lounges
The newly refurbished Koru Lounge in Auckland is in Forbes top ten airport lounges worldwide for 2003. Well done NZ http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif. Here's the link (http://www.forbes.com/home/2003/05/08/cx_cv_0508feat.html).

Are we talking about the domestic Koru Lounge????
I think the International Lounge is in urgent need of a make over. It is dark ,gloomy and decidely unattractive. Its most redeeming feature is the view. Now , Air New Zealands loungs in Sydney is very , very smart indeed and the views are even better

The photo on the slide show is of the domestic club, however I'm not sure I agree with Forbes on their vote.
The espresso bar has laptop ports for coffee and e-mails on the go, and a new bistro-style café has replaced a sandwich station.
Sure, there is an espresso machine, but nine times out of ten it is out of order! The menu changes throughout the day and is not always appealing.
Those with time to relax can enjoy the living-room styled lounge with televisions, and the business center has 11 workstations.
The living room I find claustrophobic, and televisions quoted above should be singular not plural.
I'm not saying that the lounge is isn't nice, I'm just surprised it made the top ten. I'd agree with MrSydney that the Koru lounge in Sydney is much better than AKL domestic.

For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.
