MilesBuzz! - anybody at o'hare today?

I'm hoepfully getting out tonight of O'hare for Miami but is it looking bad with cancellations yet due to thunderstorms?

I just heard on the radio 30-90 minute delays, some cancellations, expect a slow
afternoon and slow evening.

Not only were there delays but lots of cancellations due to ground stops at CLE, ORD, DTW, EWR and more due to weather. Many passengers were scrambling for airport hotels and were also rebooking for today.

I had originally been scheduled for the 4:50 CO flight EWR-MDW. Changed to the earlier 11:30 flight--which was subsequently cancelled. Made it on to the 11 am into ORD--it left on time, but due to the obviously horrendous weather took over 3 hours of extremely turbulent flying to get there! Needless to say ORD was a mess--most flights were either delayed for hours or just cancelled.

Well. I got cancelled! along with many other flights. I booked a hotel about 2 p.m. in the afternoon and protected oin the next mornings fliught just in-case.upto 6.p.m cancellation policy on my hotel. they onlk announced cancellation at 5:40 and was just about to cancel the gtoel. thank god I didn't.

Otherwise i would be staying at campbed o'Hare! We has a mini tornado in Deerfield north of the Airport. My first and hopefully my last! Ooh look at that flying traffic light!....

Hope evryone else managed to get home OK.
