Hi all
Could someone please tell me if the Kuru Checkin at New Zealand Airports is also for StarAlliance Gold members also??
Thanks Dave

I assume it is, despite the lack of proper signage in many places. The only location where I've noticed this properly spelled out is at AKL International.

Yes, definately is
In my experience, it depends on the airport a bit.
In one recent trip to NZ, I was at a regional airport and tried to use the Koru line with a TG *G card. The agent didn't know what *G was on the conceptual level, and made me queue in the normal line. I didn't have the patience to argue.
omg, they did not even know what gold is, shame on AirNZ, I got my Qantas Silver and they already let me use their business class line. Can't wait till my gold. haha.

pt, that's amazing - and more than a little depressing. What regional airport was it?

To be fair, Wongo, of course QF would recognise their own FF cards. I'm sure if pt had an AirNZ gold card he would not have had a problem. Even so, it does indicate a feeble level of training of check-in staff. Perhaps this is part of the reason NZ's ground staff so often let them down...
It was at the unfortunately named DUD last year sometime.
mad_atta's right, it was the fact it was a TG card that had the agent confused. She just didn't know that it was supposed to mean something. I put it down to her being new on the staff or something.
Apart from that, I've found NZ to be very good at recognising *G status. I've had seats blocked beside me, assignments in exit rows, and even a re-routing that saw me save 7 hours on a non-changeable award ticket on TG stock. Most of these, though, have been when dealing with the LAX ground staff.
