Air New Zealand Air Points - Shooed out of the AC lounge at LAX

Just attempted to check out the AC lounge at LAX (I'm NZ*G) , since the NZ lounge is the usual zoo at the moment. They redirected me next door (which I'd just come from, of course) - their reason was that they were hosting VS pax.
I didn't bother to argue, but methinks they aren't following *A rules to the letter....

They have often been reluctant due to
1. Not calling flights.
2. They are actually a VS contracted lounge at that time.
Have usually found that firm confident words about your ability to look at a watch and remember departure times has worked.
Interesting that NZ lounge is still a zoo as there are no NZ1/NZ2 transit pax.
Have also noticed that they reserve seats for F class pax as well.
No matter how much of a zoo you find the NZ lounge you could always compare it to what QF offers or even worse the people trapped in Camp XRay at gate 21! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Does anyone remember when NZ used to have the little house between terminal 1 and 2 with outside seating, lots of showers and space etc?

That was a fantastic lounge. I was only in there once (*silver at the time, got in with Dad who was *E) but it was very nice. If they could somehow bring it back it would solve all their lounge problems. Even my girlfriend was happy cause she could smoke right outside the door.
Cheers, Zac
P.S. on my last flight I overheard the ISD saying that Camp XRay (haha, he didn't call it that) was only a temporary lounge and would probably be removed after the war is over. He also said that there were plans to extend the LAX lounge and add a first class section - not sure exactly where or how they're going to extend it, though.

The house was a temporary lounge while they 'extended' the previous NZ LAX lounge. And yes it was easily the best lounge I have been in (taking into account length of flight, facilities and what else is offered at LAX).
The disappointment after loosing the house was that that new LAX lounge was exactly the same (except for coffee machines and new magazine stands) as the old lounge so am sceptical of any plans to improve it. Although it is easily the weak link of the NZ lounges.
Incidentally if they plan to extend the lounge and have an F section, does that indicate that F class is here to stay or that one part of NZ has no idea what the other is doing.
Does anyone know what NZ use the F section of the SYD lounge for now that there are no more NZ F flights out of SYD? It was a nice F lounge.

I think it'll still be used by the other airlines who use the NZ lounge in Sydney and offer F, (eg. Thai, Emirates). I guess the rest of the time it'll just be closed, I doubt they'll remove it as they're planning on reinstating SYD-LAX when demand improves (at least, according to the press release when they announced they'd be stopping), and it's not as if the lounge is pressed for space.
Does anyone know if there is anything stopping NZ reinstalling the "temporary" lounge at LAX as the permanent facility?
Cheers, Zac
