I'll be on ANZ in August, and was wondering if, since I booked using United miles, they would accept United drink coupons?

...er, accept them for what? If there are drinks available on NZ flights or in NZ lounges, they are free.

Hi j379pa

No, I'm very sorry, but AirNZ's policy is not to accept drinks coupons of any kind. They do however have a different policy you might be interested in, which is not to charge for drinks of any kind on any flights or in any lounges at any time http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif. Save your coupons, enjoy your flights and some very nice Australasian wines, beers and spirits http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Cheers, Zac

P.S. oh except for domestic flights on which no alcohol is served, but if you have *G it is available in the lounges beforehand

I knew this--must've had a brain freeze. Thanks for the gentle correction!

This is in fact half true if drinks are free. It only applies to Internation flights only, domestic flight charges money (Cash of about NZD 5) for a can of beer or wine.

That's interesting, I didn't realise that alcohol was even available for purchase on the domestic Express class flights.

Speaking of numbing liquids, United is now raising the spector of liquidation. I wonder how ANZ will feel about tickets (and award tickets, at that) printed on United paper if they dissolve?

Sadly, if that happens, I think you'll be left high and dry...

NZ don't get payment from UA for award flights until after they have been flown, so if UA is already in liquidation before then they'd be flying you for free... which I don't think they can afford to do.

Unless I was dreaming about Qantas Domestic in NZ. Maybe it was once upon a time which they sold beer. I'll check it out sometime in the next few weeks... I hope I am right.... I better be right.

I'm pretty sure QF do let you buy drinks - it is AirNZ's new Express class I was thinking of. (I was using 'NZ' to mean 'Air New Zealand' rather than just 'New Zealand' - yes, it can get confusing! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif )

However I'm fairly sure Qantas would turn their nose up at a United drink coupon!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
