Well my Amex points posted promptly ... called them about 16:00 on Friday and they are in the account now at 9:15 Monday (they wern't there last night when I checked) however, they have posted without the 20% bonus. Any suggestions?

For future reference:

After spending the best part of 30 mins on the phone with Amex (and in the process being told that the offer had expired) they finally told me that it was Air NZ who were responsible for the 20% bonus.

So after speaking with the very helpful Amelia in the Air Points service centre I now know that the 20% bonus will be posted approximately 1 week after the Amex points appear in the members account.

So painic not - one only has to wait a week for the bonus miles (so says he, who hasn't a patient bone in his body!).

Best Regards

Bradley

Again for future questions:

For the record the 20% bonus has posted - just under 2 weeks after calling Amex.

Kind of on-topic, I converted some Westpac Altitude (credit card) points into NZ AirPoints the other day. Rang to request it on Monday afternoon, was told to expect the points in two weeks time, and by Wednesday morning they were in my AirPoints account. Quite impressive! Thanks to that I hope to be sampling J-class on the 744 before long... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif (Sadly only SYD-AKL, but it's a start!)

Well, it's now 6 weeks since my AMEX points were posted to my NZ FF account -- no bonus points (transferred before end August cut-off). Rang AirPoints last week and was told they would look into it and make the bonus point posting. Any idea of how long I should wait before REALLY complaining?

Any assistance appreciated!

It took mine one week to post, but after 3 days I called Amex Platinum services and they chased it up for me - I dont know if it made the posting any quicker however? They did not even seem to know about the promotion until I told them!

Suppose it wouldn't be helpful to think that the way to minimise ones liability under a FF program would be to conveniently forget to meet an obligation (that is, if I was an airline!). But that wouldn't happen, would it?

While slightly off topic, some of you might like to know that NZ Amex cardholders were (and maybe still are??) able to pay $NZ50 to Amex and receive double Amex points on all transactions until May 2003. When converting to Air Points, this makes $NZ1 = 2 air points, which is pretty good.

It was certainly worth the $NZ50 I paid for the privilege, and has helped me "pay" for our reward flights in F on NZ1 in 2003.

Pleased to note that the bonus points have appeared. Previous remarks were not intended to be offensive to the airline. I must say that I received excellent attention from the Air Points service centre. The agent (Chris in CHC) was most professional, helpful and a credit to AirNZ. Not only did he take my enquiry and discuss options, but rang back (to Sydney) the next day to say the points had been credited. Great service - I'll be back with more business for NZ.
