Pilots Union Gives Notice Of Strike On Jul 19-21
Air New Zealand said Tuesday that the Airline Pilots Association has given notice that its members who operate domestic and international flights for the carrier plan to strike for 48 hours starting early July 19 .
The company, in a statement, said it has asked the pilots' group to call off the strike, saying it is a "self-defeating" exercise.
The strike won't affect Air New Zealand 's discount carrier Freedom Air, the Mount Cook airline, or other minor airlines in the group.
