got a flyer in the mail which seems identical to the United one posted a few days ago for up to 10k AA miles:
it's for MCI's 7 cents/min anytime plan for $3.95/month. offer expires 12/31/01
call 800-338-0125. if they ask for an Enrollment Code, it's: 898/BJN ZA4Q.
i'm guessing they'll have a 10k offer for Delta soon as well (please post it of you get it!).

United is better as they convert 2 to 1 to hilton so you can get 20,000 HHonors points :-)

I received a targeted mailing/enrollment form, but it has an enrollment number of 1-800-215-2920 (12/31/01 expiry) Code appears to be 898/0IE ZD4Q.

Thanks a lot Pete. I called that # and they signed me up. They didn't ask fo a code, they already knew what I wanted.
We'll see if I get the miles. I have heard a lot of horror stories about MCI, but I have always gotten my miles from them (even with the calling card!).

Thanks Pete. I signed up with them today with no problem. I didn't even need the code. They knew the exact offer I was calling for.

cactus pete or anyone else:
If you could post the terms and conditions of Delta's latest offer or email/mail/fax them to me, I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance. Happy Holidays

Anybody receive the 5,000 miles yet?

Jan 3, 02, 2:27 pm
Just signed both me and my wife up today for 2 telephone numbers. I called 2 separate times to prevent any mixups.
First time I called 800/338-0125 the gentleman answered by stating the 10k Aadvantage/MCI promo. The second time I called another gentleman answered "advertising" the Delta Skymiles promotion. I told him I wanted AA miles and he obliged.
Although MCI is problematic I have always gotten my promised miles from them. I hope that proves true with this promotion.
Has anyone gotten the promised "within 30 days 5k will be given and then an additional 1k for the next 5 months"?
They did not mention the expiration of this promotion either.
Whats your experience with this specific promo?
Mike

I switched FROM MCI in mid Dec and they finally called to woo me back. It usually only takes 1 week so they are getting slower. I was offered the standard 5,000 miles but said a friend got 10,000. He checked with a supervisor and said OK. He said he had to reboot the computer and would call back tomorrow. Seemed wierd but its his commission. The offer must be preset and they need to do something to override it.
I asked for an enrollment code but he wouldn't give me one. We will see what posts.

They called back 2 nights later and said 5K - take it or leave it. My wife took the call so I couldn't grill them. I'll wait for the letter, it may be a sweeter offer.

This offer is still valid. I tried to sign up for the 5,000 miles offer and the CSR said that their was a 10K offer still open. I also was a current long distance and local MCI customer (although not receiving aa miles at the time) and they still gave it to me.
Call and check it out!

My 1st 5k posted on both of my accounts, just like RichLond stated. It showed up as ¨1st 5K installment of 10K offer¨. I signed up Jan. 3rd.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT EVERYONE!
One of my accounts with the $3.95/month plan on it had an International plan mysteriously added onto it without my consent. The plan costs $2/month additional. I called and had it cancelled as I make no international calls on that line.
Anyone else experience this new "slamming" method? LOL

Have you gotten any further 1K postings? I received my first 5K for Delta back in Jan, but haven't gotten anything else - but I have been charged about $7 in "surcharges" which I figure are for the miles. MCI said they had sent the first 1K on Feb 10 - just wondering if anyone else has received anything.

Just signed up for this today and had no problems (that is... until the miles don't post)!
Funny thing is that on delta.com, the bonus for signing up for MCI is just 2,000 miles, so I wonder why this sign-up bonus if so much better.

It worked for me today (I'll wait to see if the miles post, of course).
The phone was answered with something like "10,000 American Miles": I knew I had the correct number.
I'll let you know if/when the miles post.
They did not say anything about 1,000 per month.

I just switched to MCI from ATT for 10'000 AA miles. Went very smothly, asked ever detail three times to make sure. They rep seemed to know what I was talking about and verified the code posted above for the 10k miels promotion. Will see in couple of weeks or so If the miles post.
Just thought I would share that with you all.

Howdy folks,
A few months back I left MCI because they wouldn't give me the 5k AA miles plan because I was an existing customer.
Now I'm back.
I called the number listed in post #1 on this thread. I pressed "1" to "Learn more about becoming an MCI customer".
James Burton answered the phone, this guy explained three plans to me:
In ALL three plans I would get 1k bonus miles (AA) per month for 10 months.
Plan 1 - 10k AA miles, $2.95 fee per month 7cents per minute out of state, 10cents per minute in state.
Plan 2 - 10k AA miles, $12.95 fee per month, 200 free minutes per minute (in state or out of state), 7 cents per minute after that (in or out of state).
Plan 3 - 10k AA miles, $49.99 per month. This plan includes Local, in-state and out of state. All minutes are free, and this includes all local phone service, Call id, call waiting, call waiting caller id, voice mail, email voice mail notification, pager voice mail notification.
I signed up for Plan 3, I was told a verification service would call me back to verify.
I'll let ya'll know how it worked out.
Keep the faith,
Pakse

Thanks alot! I just called MCI and optioned for plan 1. Interestingly enough they quote plan 2 at $9.95 fee per month, however I suspect this is due to differences in the regional areas (I'm in Atlanta). Anyway, crossing my fingers that all the miles post successfully within the next 10 months.
QUOTE:
Plan 1 - 10k AA miles, $2.95 fee per month 7cents per minute out of state, 10cents per minute in state.
Plan 2 - 10k AA miles, $12.95 fee per month, 200 free minutes per minute (in state or out of state), 7 cents per minute after that (in or out of state)"
all the best!

USAFAN,
I received my 5k rather promptly and have gotten my 1k each month for the past 4 months like clockwork. 1 more 1k posting and it will be time to switch again!
Good luck!

I just switched to ATT a week ago planning on doing a brief hiatus from MCI so I could eventually switch back and get the AA miles again. Well I got a call from MCI last night offering the 5000 miles as an immediate bonus and 1000 miles for the next five months. The terms: a check being sent to me for the Bellsouth switching fee, NO monthly fee for the next 6 mos., and 7 cents anytime for state to state calls (which I dont even use, thanks to my cell phone). Good Deal! I plan on switching again in 6 mos. to do it again.

FT experts, Has everyone sign up for this plan been getting their 1000 miles/month smoothly? My sis-in-law was shopping for a new plan since they just moved, so I called the 800-338-0125 number to check it out. The MCI rep told me that they stopped sending out postcard for awhile now, but she will offer me the 1K bonus AA miles per month for 10 month if i want to sign up. So, I def. want to sign up and just want to check anyone's comment prior to doing that.
