Phones Programs/Partners - warning: HUGE rate increase

Be careful.

My 12/10 MCI bill lists (on the back, in fine print) a rate increase, effective 1/1/02, from 5 cents a minute to 30 cents a minute off-peak, and from 10 cents a minute to 35 cents a minute peak (except for a 10 cents rate Sundays). Yowsers!

Needless to say, I'm switching away. You might want to check your most recent bill so you don't fall into this trap.

I'm going to pay more attention to my next bill. If that is the new rate, I'm going to up the minutes on my cell phone and use that for all my long distance.

But I do not think this will be across the board for everyone. MCI would be shooting themselves in the foot if they do this.

MCI has shot themselves in the foot so many times I've lost count.

It appears new customers are born faster than they can lose them.
