Phones Programs/Partners - Will this ATT offer get me 5000 or 10,000 total?

Here is the offer page, though I am sure many of you have seen it.

Now, am I reading it right or just reading into it what I want to hear?
First, sign up as a "New Residential Long Distance customer",(for state to state only) and get 5000 miles.
Then in a week or two add "ATT Local Service" (local toll where available) and get another 5000 miles for that.
Has anyone tried this and what is the outcome?

I recently signed up for both local and long distance and received 10,000 OnePass miles. You should not have to wait a week between ordering the two types of services. I would just call the sales number and have the representative annotate your account with the details of the offer (I always suggest this! It's nice to have something referenced on your account when you still do not have the promised miles, and your talking to a CSR, 6 months down the road).
Be sure you get the 5000 miles for local service. I've seen some offers for as little as 1,000 miles for local service.

I know switching to the long distance won't be a problem. And I want those 5000 AA miles. My question is with the local phone service. I assume it will take the place of Bellsouth. Correct? If so, can you have an Earthlink DSL hooked up to the line? I tried to change to Sprint local, but they couldn't support my DSL.
If anyone knows the answer to this question, please help me because it's nowhere to be found on the AT&T web page.

Not sure how it will work for you with BellSouth, but I switched to ATT for local and LD last November. My former local carrier was Verizon from GTE and my dsl provider is a semi-local company (TST/Pacifier). I ordered the change and then thought it might cause a problem with my dsl. I called ATT, my ISP, and Verizon and no one could answer the question about whether it would cause a problem, so called ATT back 30 minutes later and cancelled it.
But, lo and behold, it happened anyhow and there has been no disruption to my dsl service (5 months now). ATT provides local and long distance service for a little less than my old Verizon local and MCI ld (less, I think because there is only one set of interconnect fees -- otherwise the price is about the same).
And although the first miles didn't post until Feb. 24, all 10,000 bonus miles have posted to my Delta Skymiles account.
So, I guess it is time to look for another carrier! ;)
