MilesBuzz! - rebates at Bizrate and 2X clickrewards at Outpost

I've never seen this mentioned on the board and just earned my first rebate check so I thought I'd bring it up. The site is Bizrate.com and they pay rebates on your web purchases if you click through from their site. Rebates vary, and they claim some are up to 25%, but I get 3% at my favorite cheap online computer dealer (outpost.com), and it adds up. Normally they send you a quarterly check, and I just earned my first one. But you can also get a free visa and then they put the rebate in your account each month.

Right now, Outpost Com also has a double clickmile special for your first purchase with outpost.com, and you can get both the rebate and the clickrewards points. If you're going to register for bizrate, please use my referral link:

If you want to also do the clickrewards deal at Outpost.com, first go to bizrate, sign up and log in. They will give you a special email address. Then put outpost in their search engine and click through to outpost. Place your order, and on the last order page there is a checkoff box to say you want click miles. Here's how many click miles you can earn:

" - Spend $200-$299 and earn 200 ClickMiles
- Spend $300-$399 and earn 300 ClickMiles
- Spend $400-$499 and earn 400 ClickMiles
- Spend $500 or more and earn 500 ClickMiles

Plus, you will receive DOUBLE ClickMiles on your first
purchase, up to 1,000 ClickMiles!"

By the way, Outpost.com offers free overnight shipping on ANY order, even if it's only a $5 cable or whatever. Very handy!

Note that combining these offers results in the creation of an additional Click Rewards account because to get the Bizrate rebate you have to use the bizrate email address e.g. "steffo@bizrate.com" and so clickrewards sets up a new account in that name and gives you 500 bonus miles for opening the account. I'm not sure whether I'll get to keep those bonus miles when I combine accounts or not--my intention wasn't to get an extra signup bonus, it just happened. And the email gets instantly forwarded to your regular account.

It's a bit of trouble to go to, but my $500 business order today earned me a $15 rebate plus 1,000 click miles I will convert to 2,000 Starpoints, so that is a pretty good deal. I'm splitting up the weeks purchases into several $500 orders to get the most click miles during the Starpoint promo. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/icons/icon6.gif

Thanks for the info. I have already signed up for this service and have yet to use it to buy stuff. I usually use www.shopper.com (http://www.shopper.com) to find the lowest price stuff. I forget to logon to get my discount. Thanks for the reminder!

Steffo,

Thanks for the tip. I like Outpost a lot, and I always thought they were among the cheapest and most reliable computer web sites. About a month ago, however, I discovered buy.com. At least for the items we purchased, it was considerably cheaper than Outpost (even including shipping to Hawai'i). Unfortunately, I don't know of any additional perk associated w/buy.com except for a measly 300 mypoints (assuming they will post) for the first transaction. The difference in price, however, can be quite substantial.

Thanks for the tip, Honu. I will go and try buy.com sometime. It would be hard to get me away from Outpost because they are SO easy with returns and stuff which can be a challenge with online computer vendors. But I will try it out.

You can get 5% off all your outpost.com purchases by signing up through ebates. If you want to use me as a referral (so I get a kickback too, no cost to you) then use this link:

I have a few of these referral-based services that I mentioned in a recent Meme Update newsletter: http://www.memecentral.com/mu/mu0033.htm

Thanks Quietlion. Do you still get the clickmiles also when you use ebates to get 5% off at Outpost?

For some reason I never got into Clickmiles, Steffo... maybe someone else can answer. I doubt it though... I think ClickRewards is pocketing the 5% cash in exchange for giving you the 1 mile, making the cost 5 cents/mile.
