Hi all

Well today I booked the $A950 ($600 US) Air New Zealand special to LAX for May. This will give me a few weeks in which to secure the infamous 500,000 Latinpass miles. And those Continental Prestige Pack vouchers for lounge membership etc will come in handy.

Any assistance with cheap prices to and around Central America would be appreciated. I'm trying to put together an itinerary that will get me down there and back for the least economy (Y) cost. In particular I'm interested in cheap flights LAX to Central America on KLM in May. Its quite tricky for a non-US citizen to plan a cheap itinerary.

By the way here's some news that will make our American readers choke. I am allowed one stopover on the Air New Zealand fare. I chose Auckland but I could easily have had
Honolulu if I'd wanted it.

Gasp... Choke...

I don't know. the idea came to me whilst reading the lengthy Latinpass thread - Somebody suggested

"How about throwing in Mexico City to Guatemala City on KLM or vice versa - flights 6 times a week I think"

I assumed that they would have flown on to LAX - obviously this is not the case.

cheers Peter

those KLM flights start/end in Amsterdam, Holland (the Netherlands)

the KLM flights in the Americas are all tag-end flights from longhaul AMS-Americas flights, where they can't fill up a 747 from just one city.

Peter:

KLM also offers inter-Americas flights on the following routes:

Aruba --> Lima
Curacao --> Quito / Guayaquil
Sao Paulo --> Santiago de Chile
