Don't know if this is the forum but I guess community is also good for personal announcements!

1. Sometime by Friday morning, August 25th, I would have made my 6000th post! And I did it WITHOUT SMILEY FACES OR OTHER SILLY STUFF. I think most of my posts have offered some kind of information to the community.

2. Sometime over St. Louis, on UA flight 69 EWR-LAX on August 25th, I will REQUALIFY FOR PREMIER EXECUTIVE! I made my goal right before Labor Day (as I planned) and I'm soooo happy! I can imagine there will be parties worldwide to celebrate my mark. PremEx will have a Black Russian in L-A in my honor; wanderlust a Sam Adams.

3. If my math is right, My stay at teh W the wknd of August 31-Sept 2nd will requalify me for Platnium Starwood. (I believe I have 50 nights, WIsh Starwood would LIST the number of stays to status on the Website!)

Thanks to all of you for everyday making me a better Frequent Flyer and thanks for your support and friendship. I would give up all my points and miles tomorrow to keep friends like you! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And YAZ AND EDDIE thank you too!

Congrats to the catman! Mrs. Kid and I are planning to go out to dinner tomorrow (Friday & payday!), but we can make it also a celebratory posts&flights&stays affair.

Rudi, I'm sorry I called your smiles silly, but I would NOT have reached any of these milestones without the support and friendship of YOU, PremEx, Wanderlust and so many other Flyertalkers who if I mentioned would crash the boards.

I just may go to Smith and Wollensky's for lunch today and have a sidecar for you, A black Russian for PremEx, a Sam Adams for wanderlust. oregon wine for Punki and Essxjay and then go staggering home. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks again everyone! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Way to go, Gatoman! Do you track your FT friendships as closely as your posts/miles/points? Don't think you'll find a counter that goes that high (warning: impending smiley alert!) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

In the interest of protecting your liver, I'll have a bombay, up, three olives -in honor of you! Maybe I'll have a pre-celeb trial run tonight!

Keep on moving - we learn a lot from you!

Edited out some html I inserted trying to format bold font!.. just realized this site isn't html enabled!

JimB: I have lost count of my miles and my F-T posts but I have NOT lost touch with something THAT MEANS MORE TO ME THAN MILES: FRIENDS. I am truly blessed with freinds -- and to quote an old movie "NO man is ever poor -- or was it alone -- if he has friends." (****, old age makes me forget the movie!)

I'm LIFETIME ELITE with all my Flyertalk friends on my side! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Congrats, Catman, and here's the quote: ‘“Remember, no man is a failure who has friends.” Henry Travers as Clarence Odbody, A-S-2... Angel, Second Class.’ from “It’s A Wonderful Life.”

Congrats Catman, I will have a stout for you. Thanks for your posts, they are always enjoyable and interesting and exemplify the espirt de corps that exists on FT.

Do you like the Sam Adams Cream stout?

Congratulations on all three counts (6000th post, Premier Exec and Starwood Plat). Just discovered the brewery I have shares in [Sleemans] just become the Canadian distributor for Samual Adams, so I can toast your event with a SA lager -- always been one of my favourites from the other side of the border, even before they sent me a nifty ball cap for a complementary letter I wrote when they first started up. (By the way, did you know last year's SA TV ads were filmed in the Toronto subway!)

Still holding a couple of Alley Kat Pale Moon Ales for you to sample in two week's time here in Toronto, and as a special gift to mark your recent achievement, an Olde Deuteronomy Barley Wine (coming up to its 4th birthday) to take home to share at Christmas with your "family". I'm sure they'll appreciate a little nip.
