I have never flown SQ. In fact, I have never been to Asia. However, next year, I need to go MCO-HKG and SIN-MCO. I am a DL PM and will also be one next year.

My preference is SQ F both ways. When I look at the DL partner award rewards, this looks like it is 140K per ticket. My only option is to get a Skyteam award which would send me KAL to HKG and AF SIN-CDG-ATL-MCO for the return. My reading of the award tables show this as a 200K per person ticket.

So, the SQ questions:

1. SQ logo shows on the Virgin gates at MCO. However, MCO doesn't show as an originating airport on SQ site. Can I get tickets (at least codeshare) all the way from MCO?

2. If not, would I have to get a separate ticket (e.g., DL award) to get to a SQ gateway?

3. Is SQ F a better choice than C?

4. Will C or F get me access to lounge in SIN?

5. If this can be accomplished, what routing do you recommend?

6. Does SQ use 331 day window? If so, does the window open 331 days SIN time or EST? Does it matter that DL will be making the reservation?

7. I would rather not fly in day in advance. If I left on Saturday, can I get to HKG by Sunday night? What is the reliability (i.e., probability that I won't make it by Sunday night)? If not Sunday night, how long will I be flying?

Thanks in advance for your help. Now that I have this trip coming up, I will be hitting the SQ (and KAL board if needed) to get advice for my trip.

hmm, SQ codeshares on the MCO-MAN routes thats for sure, doubt they would on the london route as MCO flights land at Gatwick not heathrow. If you did fly via MAN, there is no J class, only preium economy and 5 days a week SQ operates no F class on its MAN-SIN flights. In all honesty you would be better taking a flight to JFK with jetblue and flying SQ from there

As to lounge access not a problem.

All StarAlliance carriers offer (combined) StarAlliance-awards. If you have enough UA MileagePlus miles (or miles with any other StarAlliance program) you can fly UA to JFK on the same single award-ticket and than SQ.

2. If not, would I have to get a separate ticket (e.g., DL award) to get to a SQ gateway?
No - see above

3. Is SQ F a better choice than C?
sure, but first-class awards are very difficult to get (one seat/flight seams to be offered only as an award in first, 2 seats nearly impossible)

4. Will C or F get me access to lounge in SIN?
yes (with a F ticket you get acess to any StarAlliance-carrier FirstClass lounge on your way)

Welcome on the board for discussion regarding the KrisFlyer program, Marq!

If understand your query correct, your intensions are to redeem a partner airline award on SQ within SkyMiles. Referring to your routing, you like to redeem a Q345 or Q346 award (https://www.delta.com/skymiles/use/partner_airlines_awards/index.jsp#singaporeAir) for 140K SkyMiles. The difference of 20K SkyMiles for an award in F instead of one in C is very cheap (answers your question 3).

I am not an expert within Delta’s FFP, so I do not comment on your options referring to a SkyTeam Award.

From what I read in discussions on the FT board regarding SkyMiles, I know, that you can include MCO to SQ’s US-gateway on DL (http://www.flyertalk.com/pasttalk/ftpasttalk_forum/Forum21/HTML/007998.html) within an Q345/346 award (answers your questions 1 & 2), but from there, SQ has to be the operating carrier ([url=https://www.delta.com/skymiles/use/partner_airlines_awards/index.jsp#virginAtl]a partner airline award on VS within SkyMiles does not bring you to SIN).

Your key question will be to log in your SkyMiles award SQ. IMO the best what you can do is to call the telephone number on the back of your Platinum SkyMiles card. As SQ honours status within the FFP KrisFlyer these passengers have advantages, but this does not mean at all that you will left out. Be patient and flexible as much as you can.

Good luck!
