I will be travelling on SQ to Changi via LAX, my question to you is this... what is the SQ lounge at LAX like?

But then again,

Thanks to Open Doors as a BA Gold, I can also use the BA lounge - especially since they are both in the same terminal.

What would you do? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

SQ lounge at TBIT is so-so... I would say almost lousy. I havent visited the BA lounge there, but I guess if you have access to both you can check them both out and decide...?

Thanks for the quick reply!
Also meant to add that after a day in Singapore I'll be off to Bangkok, so the same question but in Singapore - BA or SQ?
Thanks...

SQ lounge in Terminal 2, and BA lounge in Terminal 1. If you are flying SQ to Bangkok then it's easier to be at Silver Kris Lounge. At least you should try it, since you will be at the main lounge of SQ at its home base. But if you have plenty of times then you can do lounge hopping. I heard BA/QF lounge is also quite nice at Changi based on BA forum discussion.

I like the interior of BA's Singapore Lounge, but SQ's Silver Kris Lounge in Singapore has more goodies (food, drinks, magazines, etc.)

Both are very spacious. BA's lounge ambience is brighter than SQ's.

Are you travelling in J? If you are travelling in Y, you can only access The Premier Lounge with your *Gold card, which is not really impressive.

I totally agree... the Premier Lounge is nothing to write home about in Singapore... actually pretty crowded and one big room. It is all you get in Y as a * GOLD

LAX 1K,

I totally agree with you on SQ's Premier lounge. It is a shame for SQ to have such a pathetic lounge for Star Alliance Gold members. How degrading is it to be invited to such a lousy lounge facility. Shocking!

Yes, I am travelling in J. By your previous replies - am I to assume that there is more than one lounge? If so, then what are the differences and where/what should I do?
Thanks, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

There are two SQ lounges.

1) Silver Kris Lounge
This is for SQ J class customers and PPS members

2) Premier Lounge
This is for Star Alliance Gold customers

You should go to Silver Kris Lounge as it has better facilities.

As a J flyer, you should be aware that you can also use ANA's and TG's lounges in Terminal 1. TG's lounge is usually open during the day, and NH's lounge is open in the late evening prior to the midnight flights to Japan. Neither is spectacular, but if you're going for a walk, you may as well help yourself to refreshments as needed http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
