Are there any good fitness centers at HKG if one desires a quick workout?

The website for the Regal Airport hotel only shows a close-in shot of a few treadmills, but the narrative suggests a much more expansive facility.

The card given out for access to The Wing and Pier indicates there is a Spa under the Wing, but this isn't a fitness centre. Then again, if you have ever been to HKG, you might know that just walking from the main check-in building to the gates in the Pier constitutes a pretty good workout. Who needs a treadmill if you do this back and forth a couple of times at good speed?

How long will you be stopping or laying over at HKG?

The California Fitness Club (http://www.californiafitness.com/club.jsp?lang=en&country=hk&dtype=central) has a branch in Central which is within walking distance from Hong Kong station of the airport line. The Fitness First in Hong Kong (http://www.fitnessfirst.com.hk/) has a branch in Exchange Square, which is at most 5 mins walk from Hong Kong station. I think both clubs will allow you to pay by visit. Give them a email. BTW, a friend of mine said the California is far better between the two.

FYI - The California Fitness facility is part of the 24hr Fitness chain. If you have an 'all-club' membership you can use that club FOC. Be sure to bring your 24hr Fitness ID card, as they are not able to look you up in the system. I did not have mine, but they took my word for it when I said I was a member.

It's very nice, but extremely crowded. Had to wait in line about 10 minutes just to take a shower. Busiest health club I've ever soon. Feels pretty claustrophobic.

Have been to California Fitness before (near Lan Kwai Fong, correct?), but didn't have time to get into Central this time.

I decided to take Shareholder up on his idea and just walked around the departure area at a high rate of speed. The intensity of the workout was enhanced by purchasing several bottles of duty free whiskey, a box of chocolates from Peninsula, and a big bag of Japanese candy, which I proceeded to use as "counter weights."
