Hi,
I just wanted to thank everyone for convinging me to fly CX. It seems like fun! I am an AAdvantage member. I was wondering if I could book my 4 CX flights over AA.com even though they are not codeshare flights. I know CX is a OneWorld member so is it possible to accure milage on AA.com if I book it through them? It does not list and AAdvantage base miles. Is this calculated after the flight?

Thanks
Sam

If it's a CX flight # it has to be H fare or better to earn AA miles. Basically any cheap economy CX fare will NOT earn you AA miles. H is usually not that much more, but you have to make sure it is H or better.

If you are not purchasing AA codeshares, I would suggest buying on Cathay Pacific as it will save you some money.

Actually AA.com gave me a price $2000 USD less than cathaypacific.com. I am going full-fare business J-class. Will I be able to accure mileage?

Yes, plus class of service bonus and if you have any status add that bonus to the mix.

The question was whether you can book [and ticket] flights on CX on AA.com, even though there aren't any AA segments.

The answer is yes.

Yes - do try www.cx-leverage.com (http://www.cx-leverage.com)

Sign up for a new business account and you will save a few hundred dollars off of a Cathay-usa.com ticket or AA.com.

Plus you get all of the AA miles and service bonuses
