if you are coming from asian country than departing here in USA.
I asked for a quote from LAX-MNL-LAX on C Class it's like more than 4k almost 5k for roundtrip. If you are in manila you can purchase I class mnl-lax-mnl for 18 hundred us dollars. departing bkk is cheap too. so I took LAX-MNL one way on Z class Northwest for 795.00 OW on March 11 then march 17 mnl-lax on CX's business http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif only 2,600 hundred all in all NW one segment and one roundtrip c class of CX mnl-lax-mnl

Very common - we all do it all the time -
Basically, yield management will drive fare levels that are consistent with the ability to generate O and D traffic in local markets.

some travel agents in US offer I class fares as well.
The airfares are cheaper in countries like Philippines and Thailand is because of the local purchasing power parity (PPP) and the abritary opportunty between the US and these countries can be as much as 50 percent.
However, you have to remember that "I" subclass is not always that easy to obtain especially when you have more than 1 traveller and during high season.
Although it might sound cheap, getting the seats can be somewhat difficult at times.
