Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - AAdvantage and Marco Polo Club question/ Some Business class questions too.

1.) I am a member of AAdvantage and I recently paid $ 50.00 for a Marco Polo member, on March 18 I will have a flight on MNL-LAX on Business class. Can I get credited on the miles flown in these 2 programs? or I have only to choose 1?

2.) How will I know if the HKG-LAX sector will be using the " new business class seats"? which is the best seat number? I prefer an aisle seat. Is there an upper deck? if so what seat number is the best?

3.) Regarding the business class meal, I read in their website that it's "ala first class" style of serving meals. Does it mean that flight attendants would show the food in a trolley and you can have a small portion of each food that is shown on the trolley? I have been in the first class before in a different carrier, and you can have a portion of everything of the food placed on the trolley.---OR----- you have to choose one meal only out the foods shown on top of the trolley?

4.) How do they do the presentation of food? do they put the main course, appetizer, salad, and dessert all in 1 tray?

5.) Do they handle out sleeping attire in Business class? or only in F class?

Thanks for the help http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I can answer a few of your questions...

3) The last statement is correct - the main courses will be on the trolley and you pick one.

4)You'll initially be given the appetizer and a salad. When you're done with the starter, they'll bring you your main. Then they'll come round with a cheese board and fresh fruit. Finally, they'll bring a dessert. They give out things like rolls and garlic bread throughout.

5) The Shanghai Tang pyjamas only in F I'm afraid.

As far as your other queries go, I believe that both A340 and 747 are used HKG-LAX. If it's the 340, it'll have NBC. If it's the 74, it'll be a toss-up. Someone may correct me on that though so don't take it as gospel. Likewise I'd assume that if you check-in at MNL all the way to LAX, you'll have to choose which FF programme to credit.

Hope this helps.

1. as with most other FFPs, you can only credit to one and not the other. however with BA EC you can have your tier points credited to BA EC and the miles credited to Asia Miles.

The trolley style, where you can pick a bit of everything, is really back? Or is this just referring to picking one of the few casserole things?

Chiangi, he meant that you pick one of the pre-mealed dish from the trolley.

On my recent CX flight in Business Class, the ISM told me that the a-la-carte style service in long-haul J class will return soon.

Until then, watch the space for more info!

I think they've been saying for quite some time by now that they would reinstate that service (which would be really great) but I myself haven't seen it restarted.

I thought they may have already resumed it on some routes that I don't fly.

Thanks.
