I am CX Gold and am travelling out of HKG on CX with my parents. In theory I can only bring in one guest to the lounges but I wondered if anybody had experience with the receptionists making any exception to this rule.

(I am aware of the 7,000 Asiamiles promo.)

They have made an exception for me with a 5 year old child, but no experience of two parents.

How about if the cardholder stays outside and just let the parents get in to the lounge? Will this work?

No - the cardholder must remain with the guests at all time.
