Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - award flight HKG-LHR : should I choose BA or CX, F or C class?

I have enough miles for a round-trip first class ticket from HKG to LHR.
The question I want to ask ...
Is it worth the extra miles to go on first class? (c.f. 100000 miles for C, 140000 miles for F under CX's AsiaMiles program)
And if so, should I go on BA or CX?
I've travelled on C class on BA and CX (including NBC) quite a lot of times.
According to all your flight reports (B-HXB in particular!) the first class experience is worth it.
Thanks!

I would say yes - on CX. Particularly if you are into caviar, Lynch Bages, top-end Chinese teas, and a bed you can really sleep in (if you have time with all the food/drink/AVOD).

Depending on who your miles are with, i.e. they are with AA, why not do BA one direction and CX the other. That way you can expereince both services.
As for me, I have a AONE and am flying BA LHR-HKG and then CX HKG-JFK.
Despite all the rave reviews of CX first, I find that BA's product (seat, service, lounge (in LHR)) to be superior to CX. I flew CX F JFK-HKG-JFK and LAX-HKG-LAX and while it was a great flight, the food and service were not as great as everyone says. I have had better flights in BA F from LHR-CPT-LHR and LHR-SIN then my experiences on CX F. It is true that if you get an aircraft with AVOD, the CX IFE is better. But you're probably going to sleep for a large portion of the flight anyway.

I presonally would go F - and my preference is CX. The main reason are the wider seats. Just came back from JNB to LHR today on BA F - the seats are fairly narrow and more dense (14 in the nose at BA vs. 12 at CX).
But both airlines are good airlines.
Also my preference is asian food. Dont really like british food (sorry). CX is better in this area.

Thanks for all the information.
I think I'll go on CX F class, despite the 40% extra miles to redeem it!
Just did CX 250 in first. FANTASTIC service....had some of the best caviar I have ever had. Also, the lobster and scallop entree was sensational. Incidentally I love BA by IMHO CX is at the top of the list.

the op said he would be using asia miles
This isn't even a close call. Of course CX in first both ways. BA doesn't even come close. CX is light years ahead in food, drink and service. The cabin is also less crowded and far more comfortable. When I have on very rare occasions gotten service roughly comparable to good BA service on CX I have been terribly disappointed with the CX experience. They are so good that they leave themselves open to such invidious comparisons with their own ability.
