Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - BP for connecting flight (next day) when checking in?

Will be flying AKL-HKG on the later flight that arrives about 21:00 and will be departing for DPS the next day at 10:00. Will I be able to get my connecting boarding pass when I check in at AKL?

There is a pay per use lounge airside at HKG that has a day-room type service similar to what CX offers at the Pier lounge. One can use it for up to 8 hours starting at 2300. And CX has a 20% discount coupon thru may 2004.

If I don’t have my BP for the HKG-DPS flight on the evening of my arrival, can I get it the next morning at the CX transfer desk ? Or must I clear immigration, check-in, then pass thru security again? I prefer the former rather than the latter.

The pay-per-use lounge airside is on the departure level so you will only be able to access it if you have a boarding pass for an outbound flight.

You may not be able to get it at Auckland, but there should be no problem at all getting it at one of the CX airside transit desks when you arrive at HKG in the evening. No need to go landside.

I called Cathay US today about another issue and asked about getting the boarding pass the night before departure. The answer was no, and HK airport authorities won't let you enter the departures level without a BP. The agent knew about the Plaza Premium lounge, so I have more confidence in his answer. Am I out of luck? I will be passing thru HK in Jan, maybe I should ask the staff when there.

Well you can for a fact get you boarding pass the day prior to departure even at Airport Express stations, so it would be extremely bizarre if they would not give it to you at a transit desk. Certainly they should give it to you if you go landside to the check-in desks.
