Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Using T4 lounge prior to LAX/HKG departure

Has anyone managed to get into T4 to use the AA lounge prior to the midninght flight (881).
I used to be able to get in there for a shower- which is what I'm after - .
I have the day in LA and have the time to go thru both sets of security, but am unsure if they will let me thru with a TBIT boarding pass.

I tried. AA would not give me a pass to get thru security. I am EXP and was on a paid J CX ticket.

Security is inconsistent, and will often let you in without a T4 boarding pass; it depends on the security threat level that day (or something like that). If you have the time to try it is well worth it as the lounges are so much better.
