We've talked for years about the prospect of a CX nonstop JFK-HKG. With JFK now to get HKG service via LHR, what do we figure happens to the prospect of nonstop service?
This might all add up to too much capacity on the market -- JFK-YVR-HKG plus JFK-LHR-HKG plus JFK-HKG.
On the other hand, perhaps JFK-LHR will be mostly O&D traffic (getting paid front-cabin pax thanks to CX's great reputation) and won't be attractive for JFK-LHR-HKG travel due to higher ticket prices than Pacific service (or even nonstop service, if available).
