Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX to AA Overnight Connection at LAX: Through Check-In of Luggage

I am going to be flying from BKK to LAX on flights CX712 and AA6120 (operated by CX), staying overnight at a LAX hotel and taking AA606 to DFW. AA6120 arrives at LAX at 2025 hours and AA606 leaves the next morning at 0715 hours. The two are separate tickets. I want to check my luggage all the way from BKK to DFW. I understand that I will have to go through customs at LAX but want to turn in my luggage to AA before going to my hotel. Would that be possible?

Even for immediate connections from SQ to UA, I could not book my luggage direct. I had to cart it all the way to terminal 7 and go through full luggage screening even though my luggage was "checked" direct to New Orleans from Sin. good luck

to my understanding, if your domestic flight depart before that "night" is done, it can check through (i.e. flight depart 0015 or so).... but for a morning flight at 07xx.. I am afraid you need to carry it out and recheck at counter the next morning.

I recommend you don't take any chances and take the luggage with you to your hotel, check it in the next morning.
