I post a similar posts on AA forum, but figure I might get the answer by posting my question here as well. I am trying to find out whether H-class on CX accrues 50% or 100% qualifying miles for AA Platinum challenge. The agent told me that H-class only accrues 50% after August but I thought I heard something different before. Can anyone confirm on this? Thank you.

Welcome to FT.

For future reference, try to refrain from posting the same question on different forums.

H will earn full mileage, but only .5 points per mile.

andrej, i don't know why you still keep on insisting that H class gives 0.5 q-point when people who have gotten 1.0 q-point/mile have told you otherwise in another recent thread.

H-class gives you 1.0 q-point/mile flown.
on AA.com in the CX section, H class is placed right next to Y & B fare classes under "Economy Class". there's a column for "Discount Economy Class" but H class is not displayed there. if H class is indeed considered as a Discount Economy Fare Class, AA.com would have the eligible fare class mileage accrual table structured like the one for Qantas.

jakob,

The CX page just lists mileage earnings. It doesn't talk about points. If you look under status qualification page:

http://www.aa.com/content/AAdvantage/programDetails/eliteStatus/qualificationRe quirements.jhtml (http://www.aa.com/content/AAdvantage/programDetails/eliteStatus/qualificationRequirements.jhtml)

you could clearly see that only Y and B earn a full point for status qualification. Any other coach mileage earning fare will only get you .5 qualifying points per mile earned.
