Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Original credit card used for e-ticket

I accidentally washed and dried my Amex card which ruined the magnetic strip. Amex sent me a new card but the last few numbers are different.

How strict is CX about having the original credit card used for the purchase of an e-ticket? I assume I would not be able to use a kiosk to check in since the original card is unreadable. Should I bring the old card with me?

Thanks.

CX is more strict when it comes to your passport number.

When a CX E-ticket is issued, the travel agent or CX would have to enter your passport number into a "FOID" field. At check-in they verify that the passport number matches.

I guess this might be due to the case that there are still a lot of people in Asia who don't use a credit card to pay for their tickets.
