I'm planning on going to HKG on October 20, There are 2 flights out of LAX, one at 11:55pm and another at 1:55am (following day)

Which one should I take? I was hoping to get the NBC, does anyone know if any or both of these planes have them?

Also, any diference between the upper level or the the lower level? Which one should I go for?

thanks for the insight http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

ps. Anybody knows a good website for hotels in Asia (Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore)
thanks!

As far as I can see from the seat map, both have NBC. Enjoy.

Regarding the hotels, you may want to check these two:

www.asiatravel.com (http://www.asiatravel.com)
www.planetholiday.com (http://www.planetholiday.com)

They have good (although I can't promise best) rates for hotels all over Asia.

If you are flying the earlier flight, you will get the Boeing 747 with NBC, and I will recommend the upper deck. However, there will be a slim chance that there will be an aircraft swap and you will fly the unpleasant old BC.

If you fly the 2am flight, it will get into HK at a more humanly hour and you don't need to wait at the Airport Express train station for the first train into central... It uses the newer Airbus A340-600s, which will definitely have the NBC.

Thank you all for the information. I'm booked on the 2am flight, on a 747 with NBC. According to the info I got on seatmap.com, it says the Airbus flies on the earlier flight. I will take the airbus on the way back, so hopefully I'll be able to experience NBC on both flights.

Since I'm connecting to Singapore, I don't have to wait in HKG that much, although flying from the easy coast to LA, and leaving at 2am (5am my time) will be bad enough...

One more question, anyone know a good travel agency (or website) for cheap flights in asia?

I'm trying to book a trip from KUL-DPS, DPS-JKT, JKT-BKK, but prices on expedia are out of this world... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
