I noticed that CX has done a few last minute plane changes from 343 to a 346 for the Toronto flight.

Have you guys heard any news to if CX plan to operate the 346 instead of the 343 in the future.

Airliners.net reports that CX is going to purchase a few of BA's 744's and convert as many as five of them to freighters. CX may also purchase some for passenger use.

That would be nice, as I have a flight booked ex-YYZ in November and would like to sample one of the new A340s. May be a load thing, as AC has only been operating a single flight to/from HKG a day ex-YVR, so YYZ customers have to do a cross-country trek during the day. CX definitely has the better schedule right now for business travellers, departing late evening -- maybe too late -- and getting in early morning. AC gets in mid-afternoon, so it means losing two whole days, in addition to the International Dateline change. AC will be introducing a second daily flight in December, returning to the old schedule.
