Do the BR/AA codeshares, if booked under AA flight numbers (e.g. AA7964 TPE-SEA) count towards status in MPC AND earn Asiamiles?
Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - BR/AA codeshares in MPCView Full Version : BR/AA codeshares in MPC mhtaipei Aug 3, 03, 1:39 am Do the BR/AA codeshares, if booked under AA flight numbers (e.g. AA7964 TPE-SEA) count towards status in MPC AND earn Asiamiles? SHADO Aug 3, 03, 1:53 am I believe so, however check your Fare Rule letter code to see exactly how much you get, so long as it is an AA ticket. Guy Betsy Aug 4, 03, 12:42 am Actually I don't think you'll get it. See: http://www.asiamiles.com/am/1,,22481__eng__1,00.html#airtravelcredits It states : Certain fares and flights are not eligible for earning Asia Miles. These include industry/agency discount, award travel, prize, group and other special discounted tickets, chartered flights and certain codeshare flights. I believe the codeshared partners have to be airlines that are partners in the Asiamiles in the first place. So unless EVA air is going to be an Asiamiles partner anytime soon, the flight will not count towards MPC status. PS - if you're planning to take EVA Air in their "Super Business Class" ... don't. It is dreadful! Aside from the very ugly corporate color (green), FA's who cannot understand a word of English (or Mandarin Chinese....they INSIST on speaking Taiwanese [dialect] first), FA's who are in dire need of botox and facial treatment, and very indigenous passengers who's got LOTS of money but little to no culture/class. Sometimes I wonder why would anyone take the AA codeshare with BR.... The ones I had last week were nice, though I spoke to them in Mandarin so that's okay. But they reminded me of being dim sum waitresses...! Now the woman in front of me was clutching her handbag throughout the flight. Then I noticed she was counting something... on second thoughts.. it looks like a wad of $100 bills in new notes. Hmm don't you have to declare over $10K in cash? She just breezed right through. If you want the code share.. please take the JAL flight. Much better service, food and inflight entertainment. Swanhunter Aug 6, 03, 12:16 pm You won't get anything under OW rules. Earning in MPC, on an AA codeshare on non-OW metal gets you nothing. Earning in MPC, on an AA codeshare on BA metal would! I've only flown EVA down the back - it was a pretty ghastly experience with just about the worst food and service I've ever had. Nasty. |
